All right, Spielberg, M Night, Coen & Coen. Think you can make an
award-winning movie? Prove it by submitting your short film to the
Highland Library for our Teen Film Festival.
You could win the People’s Choice grand prize
($50 in cold hard cash, and a guided tour of
PBS
Detroit's broadcasting center in Wixom)!
Films accepted for the contest will be shown at the Film Festival at the
Highland Library on
Monday, August 18 at 6:00pm (Popcorn
and bottled water will be provided!).
Aaaaand... action!
Contest
Rules:
-
Any teen (grades 6 - 12) who lives within the Huron Valley School District may participate
-
Each filmmaker may submit up to and no more than two films
-
Films may be up to 10 minutes in length
-
Films may be on any topic but must be G or PG rated in
language and subject matter or will be disqualified
-
Films will be previewed for content by Highland Library’s Teen Advisory
Board

All editing must be done before submitting the film for consideration
-
Title pages and credits should be included in your film
-
Films may be submitted on digital video or DVDs and will be copied to a
DVD for showing at the festival.

The compilation DVD of films to be shown at the festival may be added to
the library’s lending collection.

EDITED FILMS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE
LIBRARY BY Saturday, August 2
Our TAB group will preview and vote on the films, judging their merits in a
number of categories: cinematography, screenplay, sound effects, and acting.
All approved films will be shown at the first annual Highland Library Teen
Film Festival on Monday, August 18 at 6:00pm.
