There is something in my soul That is going by Burning all my greatest memories.
It’s burning up my childhood It’s burning up my love for people.
And worse yet, it’s burning my family Now I know it’s death.
He’s playing with my mind He won’t stop until he’s satisfied.
There’s nothing wrong with my mind I’m falling in love With the wrong guy.
That guy is death.
[Lola wrote this poem at a time in her life when she didn’t feel very good about herself. She’s not the same sad and destructive girl anymore and is a well loved teen patron at the Highland Library! -Dawn] |
