All programs are FREE. Register by calling 248-887-2218 (option 4) or by stopping at the Youth Ref. Desk. If you need to cancel, please let us know! It’s a shame when registered children don’t show up, and we’ve turned people away!
For children’s programs with limited space, preference will be given to Highland residents. Other interested folks will be placed on a waiting list the first 3 days of registration.
Programs begin promptly, so please arrive early as a courtesy to our program providers and to the other children in the program. Latecomers will not be admitted once storytime has begun.
Mom's the Best! Wednesday, May 7 at 4:30pm For kids 3 and older. This sparkly craft is perfect for your Mother's Day gift! Check our downstairs display case for a sample - Moms, no peeking! Registration begins April 21.
You, Too, Dad! Wednesday, June 4 at 4:30pm For kids 3 and older. Your Dad will love this handmade craft! Check our downstairs display case for a sample - Dads, no peeking! Registration begins April 21.
Science Camp For 3rd to 5th graders. Four week commitment. Space is limited! Register beginning June 2. Thursday, June 19 at 2:00pm - Introduction and Safety - Or, why you should never, ever, ever, ever stare directly into the sun. Thursday, June 26 at 2:00pm - Observation of Insects - Is it easier to run with six legs, or do they just get tangled up? Thursday, July 10 at 2:00pm - Dissecting an Owl Pellet - Science means finding out what owls barf up! Thursday, July 17 at 2:00pm - Camouflage and Warnings - Hide-and-seek bugs, and how nature says "do not touch".
Preschool Stories - All About Bugs! Tuesday, June 24, at 10:30am Tuesday, July 1, at 10:30am Tuesday, July 8, at 10:30am Tuesday, July 15, at 10:30am For kids 3 to 5 years old, not yet in Kindergarten. Come hear some GREAT stories featuring six-legged creepy-crawlies! Registration begins June 9. Choose your session(s).
Beach Party Wednesday, July 2 at 1:00pm For K-2nd grades Summertime means it's time to hit the beach! Come make a nifty "beach" craft and have some sandy fun!
It's All About the Teeth! Thursday, July 10 at 10:30am For 3- to 6-year-olds Learn about those pearly whites and what makes your chompers great! Also a great program for any aspiring dentists. Register beginning June 2
Barnyard Bash Monday, July 14 at 1:00pm For K-2nd grades Chickens, cows, and horses - oh, my! Come have a fun time and create a fun farm-themed craft! Register beginning June 2
