Rilla of Ingleside is truly a classic. An engaging book about a teenage girl growing up during the dark days of World War I, the characters are well developed and excellent, as is the story. This book left me with a desire to do something worthwhile, as well as a deep appreciation for the sacrifices of those who lived during World War I, both the soldiers and those on the home front.

The Penderwicks is one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. The characters are great, and so is the story. I couldn't put this book down. This is one story that I'll definitely want to read again!

I read The Penderwicks and wanted more from Jeanne Birdsall. The Penderwicks on Gardam Street is wonderful! I laughed through the entire book. Great reading! This is definitely a worth sequel to The Penderwicks.
